Sweet almonds are generally what we eat and consumed. Bitter almonds on the other hand, contains Hydrogen Cyanide, a poison which is very potent in small doses, so it would be best to stay away from it.

That said, Sweet Almonds are rich in Vitamin E and Monounsaturated Fat (the “good” kind of fats that lowers LDL cholesterol). Other health benefits are improved complexion and prevention of cancer.
